STAYING SAFE (& SANE)

As we all try to navigate the ongoing and ever-changing ramifications of the Covid-19 pandemic, many individuals and organizations have safely chosen to request that those who can work remotely do.  But we all know that work-from-home (aka WFH) has its challenges.  For many people, this new way or working is exhausting; it is hard to focus when juggling work, parenting, and teaching.  It is also lonely; we miss the intrinsic human experience of working together, in the presence of others.  This human interaction – however distanced – is necessary to foster creativity, agility, and innovation.

Scout Workshop is a haven…and a haven is what many of us need today more than ever before.

It is a welcome antidote to the challenges of remote working and WFH.

member experience

  • Masks are always required to be worn within the shared spaces of the building.  The exception to this is when a member is using one of the reservable, enclosed meeting/ phone rooms and the door is closed.

  • Members access the space using our phone-based app.  This allows for room or desk reservations to ensure each member can use the spaces they want when they need it, it also allows for contact tracing should we ever experience a member or guest discovering they were infected with Covid-19 while occupying the building.

air & ventilation

  • Our air handling (HVAC) units are two years old; the air filters are changed monthly.

  • All the HVAC units ventilate each space directly to the outdoors, bringing fresh air in (not re-circulating).

  • The Interior Garden has both operable skylights and an operable garage door, enabling an indoor-outdoor experience when desired.

  • The Studio has 14’ ceilings and its’ dedicated HVAC unit operates with a continual fan and fresh air exchange during business hours.

cleaning protocols

  • We request that all members “clean-in and clean-out” using the hand sanitization stations at each door, and in each work area or room

  • Our dedicated cleaning staff consists of a wonderful, energetic, and commercially trained woman named Greta.  Scout Workshop is her only client, reducing both her potential exposure to Covid-19 and our members.

  • Complete building cleaning, including disinfection of all high-touch surfaces, happens daily.

Our founders are also experts at designing interior environments and avid researchers (and contributors) to best-practice articles and white papers.
Tapping in to this knowledge, this social-distancing plan was created to provide member guidance, helping us keep one another safe.
